This clump-forming perennial produces a tuft of blue / green grass-like
evergreen foliage, reminiscent of blue fescue. It spreads to 2ft (60cm),
then produces 4ft (1.2m) tall flower spikes with a curious spiral
pattern of  blade-like leaves that run up the stalk. Spring sees the emergence of fragrant, lemon yellow flowers with glamorously curled white stamens. These flowers turn to unique round seed pods which add further interest.
All in all, it’s a tough, long-lived plant.
