This popular perennial is a staple for rock gardens and border edges. Growing only to 6 in (15 cm) high, but spreading to 12-18 in (30-45 cm), its small greyish-green leaves are covered with profuse blue flowers, each with a tiny yellow center. Other varieties feature flower colors such as pink, red, magenta, as well as lilac and blue. Variegated leaf varieties are also available. Rockcress works well in the spaces between rocks in dry stack walls, and in between stepping stones.
