Exposure: Light / Part Shade
Water: Regular

“Koto no ito” means harp strings in Japanese, and here it refers to the wispy, delicate looking leaves of this Japanese maple. Even after 30years, this airy tree will only reach 12ft (3.6m) high by 6ft (1.8m) wide. The new leaves emerge with a yellowish cast,  mature to a pale green, and are easily stirred by soft breezes. New leaves may be wider than mature ones. Its compact size makes it ideal for rock gardens and containers, and its orangy-peachy-red  fall color is beautiful.

Cheers,

John
