Type: Evergreen Shrub
Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Regular to Drought Tolerant

This compact, dense shrub is known for its uniquely-colored evergreen foliage. Forming a flat-topped mound 2ft (60cm) high and wide, it features tiny, yellowish-olive colored, scaly leaves that are held tight to its stems, similar to that of a cypress tree. This color looses its green tint and intensifies to a bronzy-gold hue in winter. Tiny white flowers appear in the late spring once the plant starts flowering, but note that this can take years (the flowers don’t really add much to the plant anyway). Whipcord hebes are at home in a mixed border, as well as a rock garden.
