Type: Evergreen Vining Shrub
Exposure: Full Sun
Water: Regular

“Madison” is the cultivar of this attractive vining shrub that is cold hardy enough to survive the winters of the Pacific Northwest; all the others generally require a warmer climate to survive the winter. Over time, with support, it will climb to 30ft (9m), or form a low, dense, sprawling shrub 2ft (60cm) high by 10ft (3m) wide. The leaves are oval and glossy light green when they are young, maturing to a glossy deep green. In late spring and well into summer, pinwheel-shaped, 5-petaled white flowers form in clusters on side branches. These 1in (2.5cm) blossoms are disproportionately fragrant for their size, and they smell amazing. This would be a good choice for an entryway bed or near a pathway where its fragrance can be fully appreciated.

Oh, and bees like it too.

Cheers,

John
