Certostigma plumbaginoides
Type: Perennial Groundcover.
Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Regular

This native of China is a popular perennial ground cover, thanks mostly to a profusion of small cobalt blue, five-petalled flowers that persist from summer through late fall. Growing 12in (30cm) high by twice as wide, its wiry stems are covered with leaves that range from green to bronze, and then start to change to a brownish- red as the cold weather arrives. It’s useful as a ground cover, and grouped along the front of borders. It attracts butterflies. Oh, and don’t worry if you don’t see it right away in the spring; like me, it’s a late sleeper.

Cheers,

John
