Bellflower, Peach-Leafed Bluebell

Campanula persicifolia

Bellflower
Campanula persicifolia
Type: Perennial
Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Regular

A tried, true and deservedly popular border plant, this perennial forms a basal clump that spreads through the roots, and can be increased through root divisions in the fall. This clump consists of smooth, narrow leaves that are shaped like those of a peach tree. Flower stalks that are slim but strong produce short side stems that carry a cluster of 1in (2.5cm), cup-shaped flowers that are usually blue, but are also available in white and pink. These flower stalks can reach 3ft (90cm) high in the right conditions and are popular in cut flower arrangements.

Cheers,

John
