Make sure to allow ample room if you’re planting a Zebra Grass, they get big.
Forming a clump that maxes out at about 6ft (1.8m) wide as well as high, Zebra Grass features rich green, arching leaves, striped with irregularly-spaced horizontal bands of light yellowish-green. These bands give the plant a striped look, and its common name. The leaves gradually fade to tan as winter arrives. The total height is bumped up another couple of feet (60cm or so) when coppery blooms appear in wavy tassels. These turn a silvery white color as the season progresses, and add great winter interest. Cut it to the ground in late winter before the new growth starts, and its cycle begins again.
