Type: Perennial
Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Regular

This reliable perennial forms a mass of rounded green basal leaves from which emerge flower stems, which in turn are covered with much more finely divided leaves. These stalks, which can reach 3 or 4ft (90-120cm) high end in spires of paper thin, 5-petalled light mauve- pink, hollyhock-type flowers in early to mid-summer, each of which can reach 2in (5cm) across. Trimming of spent flowers will result in a longer blooming period, and each plant should be cut back to the basal leaves in winter. Clumps can reach 20in (50cm) across in maturity.

John
