Here’s a big, beautiful shrub whose impressive flowers are matched by its equally impressive foliage. Bold, deeply lobed leaves that are shaped like oak leaves form a rounded mound of bright green foliage that can grow to 6ft (1.8m) tall by 8ft (2.4m) wide. These leaves turn beautiful shades of purplish-crimson in the fall, and will often stick around for winter interest well into the new year. In late spring or early summer handsome clusters of white flowers, sometimes up to 8in (20cm) long appear, then age to a pinkish purple color. Other varieties, including double-flowering and dwarf varieties are also available.

Cheers,

John
