White Bleeding Heart

Dicentra spectabilis “Alba”

White Bleeding Heart
Dicentra spectabilis “Alba”
Type: Perennial
Exposure: Part / Light Shade
Water: Regular

This old favorite perennial features light green, ferny foliage that forms a clump 30 in (75cm) high and wide. Plump, white, heart-shaped flowers appear in mid to late spring, suspended in chains under fleshy, leafless stems. After blooming, this plant will go dormant for the summer months,  unless kept well-watered, which may delay dormancy until late summer or early fall. Bleeding hearts are popular as cut flowers.

Cheers,

John
