Type: Deciduous Shrub
Exposure: Full Sun / Light Shade
Water: Regular

This densely branched shrub has a much more compact habit than the common lilac, growing to a manageable 7ft (2.1m) tall and wide. May brings 3in (7.5cm) cone shaped clusters of deliciously fragrant flowers. These ice blue, single flowers open from purple buds on nearly black stems, making for a striking, almost 3-D affect. The leaves, which are oval and pointed are a medium green, turning burgundy in autumn. To encourage the next season’s floral display, remove blooms once they are spent.

Cheers,

John
