Here’s a low growing, spreading perennial ground cover for planting near the front of your borders. Growing only a foot (30cm) high but spreading to twice that, it forms a mat of deep green, lance-shaped leaves which turn bronze-colored in the fall. White and red flowers on wine-colored stems rise above the foliage in dense, 3in (7.5cm) spikes from late May to September. These flowers deepen in color as they mature, ending up a rusty-brown hue in the fall.

Cheers,

John
