Molly the Witch Peony

Paeonia mlokosewitschii

Type: Shrubby Perennial

Exposure: Sun / Part Shade

Water: Regular

The name “Molly the Witch” is a light-hearted take on the virtually unpronounceable botanical name “mlokosewitschii.” Growing to 2 ft (60cm) high and wide, this herbaceous perennial forms an attractive mound of divided, bluish-green leaves which sometimes have purplish veins or edges, and are topped by large (4-5 in, 10-12cm) blooms in mid spring. These bowl-shaped, single blossoms are a clear light yellow with deeper yellow stamens. Peonies make popular cut flowers.

Cheers,

John
