This is a Mediterranean native that is grown primarily for its finely cut, aromatic foliage, which is reminiscent in appearance of small cedar (thuja) leaves. It grows to 18in (45cm) tall by 2 ft (60 cm) wide. Blossoms are tiny, creamy yellow balls borne singly on slender stalks. The chartreuse foliage contrasts strikingly with deeper colored foliage and flowers; in the middle picture it’s paired with Aubreita x cultorum in a rock garden setting.
