This crinkly-leaved evergreen is one of the few truly purple evergreens. Growing to just 3ft (90 cm) high and wide, its fine, dense, intensely glossy foliage lends itself well to clipping. The most unique feature of this handsome shrub is the light green new growth that emerges in vivid contrast to the dark mature leaves. It’s a great focal point, and works well in containers.
