It’s about time for another Rhodo, right? This one is from a project I was involved in a few years ago in North Saanich, BC. It’s one of a group of hybrids of the “Augustinii” group, which are collectively known for profuse displays of brilliant blue to violet flowers in early to mid spring. This one grows to 6 ft (1.8m) high and wide, while smaller varieties are also available. New foliage has a bronzy tinge, which matures to green. The leaves are small, pointed ovals; it contrasts nicely with rhodos with larger foliage.

Cheers,

John
