Growing to 10ft (3m) high by 6ft (1.8m) wide, the dense, medium green foliage of this fountain-shaped deciduous shrub makes for a good screen or background plant. Fall color can run the gamut of yellows through purples, depending on the climate. The real show comes in early spring though, when the bare branches are clothed in bright yellow flowers; this is one of the most commonly seen harbingers of spring. Many low-growing selections are also available.
