Picea mariana “Aureovariegata” |
Variegated Black Spruce
Picea mariana “Aureovariegata”
Type: Coniferous Evergreen
Exposure: Full Sun
Water: Regular to Light
The subtle gold hue on the upper side of the branches gives this northern native the impression of sunshine, even on a cloudy day. (Sounds like a song, doesn’t it?) This spruce forms a somewhat dishevelled-looking column of evergreen foliage which can be expected to reach a height of 10ft (3m) after 15 years, eventually reaching 35ft (10.5m) by 10ft (3m) wide in maturity. This qualifies it as one of the smaller upright spruces, and means it’s suitable for smaller properties.
Cheers,
John
