Happy 2023, Folks!
Witch Hazels are prized for their vibrant fall foliage and unique blooms, which have been compared to mop heads and shredded coconut. This variety will grow to 12 – 15ft (3.6-4.5m) high and wide with a dramatic spreading growth habit. In autumn the leaves turn a showy orange / red, which is followed by the fragrant coppery / orange flowers, which emerge in mid winter and are typically long lasting. Other varieties, including the characteristic yellow flowering types, are widely available. They all look wonderful in woodland settings.
Cheers,
John
