Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Drought Tolerant Once Established

Here’s a more garden-sized (and therefore more manageable) relative of the gigantic Coast or California Redwood tree. This exceptional, slow-growing evergreen will form a beautifully textured mound of foliage that will sprawl to cover 5ft (1.5m) while rarely exceeding 16in (40cm) in height. The deep green needles are flattened and resemble little lance-shaped leaves, with the new growth emerging a lighter color. This foliage contrasts nicely with the reddish-brown bark and cones. It makes a picturesque addition to rock and alpine gardens, but will also work well in pots or tubs.

Cheers,

John
