Little Heath Pieris
Pieris Japonica “Little Heath”
Type: Evergreen Shrub
Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Regular
This diminutive shrub features dense whorls of dark green, glossy foliage with striking silvery-white variegation. Spring flowers are white and bell-shaped, opening from pink buds. These are followed by the colorful new leaves that emerge a bright reddish salmon hue, and really put on more of a show than the flowers. Growing only to 2ft (60cm) high and wide, this little guy is a natural choice for containers and for near the fronts of borders. It also looks good in woodland planting schemes. The leaves and flower nectar from this plant are toxic though. So please…don’t eat your Pieris.
