Gold Crest Monterey Cypress
Cupressus macrocarpa “Wilma Goldcrest”
Type: Dwarf Evergreen Conifer
Exposure: Full Sun
Water: Regular to Drought Tolerant

This colorful evergreen makes a striking addition to a small garden thanks to its slow growth rate and columnar habit. Reaching only 15ft (4.5m) high and a mere 5ft (1.5m) wide after 15 years (180 months), this dwarf Monterey Cypress is prized for brilliant, lacy foliage the color of antifreeze (chartreuse), which has a lemon scent when brushed. The foliage may turn slightly orange or light brown when the weather gets cold, but will return to its brilliant yellow-green in spring. An excellent vertical accent or container plant, it’s often found decorated for Christmas in the garden centres this time of year.

Cheers,

John
