Chokeberry
Aronia melanocarpa “Autumn Magic”
Type: Deciduous shrub
Exposure: Sun / part shade
Water: Regular to ample

First, apologies for my absence: I finally got around to trying COVID. (0 stars-would not recommend) Anyway…

The bright, reddish- purple fall foliage of this chokeberry makes it very deserving of the Autumn Magic label.
The colorful foliage is accompanied by berries that ripen to a shiny onyx black and persist after the leaves fall, if left unpicked. The berries are edible, and can be used to make preserves or juice. Spring flowers are fragrant. This variety is quite compact, growing to only 3-5ft (90 – 150cm) high and wide. Unwanted suckers should be pruned out when they appear in spring.

Cheers,

John
