Type: Evergreen Shrub
Exposure: Sun / Part Shade
Water: Regular

The name “Emerald Gaiety” doesn’t really adequately convey the toughness of this little shrub. It’s one of most cold tolerant broadleaf evergreen shrubs, able to take temperatures reaching as low as 0 degrees F (-18C). Reaching 4ft (1.2m) tall and 3ft (90cm) wide, it features small, deep green leaves that are edged with a creamy-white variegation, which get a pink blush when the temperatures drop. The flowers are inconspicuous, and it only bears fruit when it’s mature. Lower branches may trail along the ground and take root where they touch. It makes a great container plant or as an edging plant for the fronts of borders or rockeries.

Cheers,

John
