Some lodgepole pines can grow as tall as 160ft (50m). This is not one of those.

This dwarf pine will reach only 6ft(1.8m) tall by half as wide with a dense, compact form. It’s extremely slow growing, adding only 2in (5cm) of growth per year.  It’s prized for its brilliant golden color that arrives in the fall, and persists through the winter, virtually lighting up its spot in your garden. Its summer green color returns to its paired needles in the spring. This cultivar is named after Chief Joseph of the Wallowa Valley Nez Perce tribe, in Oregon.

Cheers,

John
