Hardy Begonia

Begonia grandis “Evansiana”

Hardy Begonia
Begonia grandis “Evansiana”
Type: Perennials from Tubers
Exposure: Full or Part Shade
Water: Regular

Growing from tubers to 2 or 3ft (60-90cm) tall and wide, this attractive, shade-loving perennial features lopsided, heart-shaped, coppery-green leaves with red veins. These leaves, which are held by red stems, are also a reddish color on their undersides, making them quite the striking spectacle when  backlit. Drooping clusters of slightly fragrant pink or white flowers appear in summer and last through to frost. They make a good companion for other shade lovers such as ferns, hostas or bugloss.

Cheers,

John
