This dramatic, spreading perennial will grow to 2-3ft (60-90cm) tall and wide. It forms a dense mound of arrowhead-shaped leaves in shades of bronze, green and purple, in a distinctive pattern with a purple center splotch surrounded by a chevron-shaped stripe of silver or green. Rounded clusters of tiny, rather insignificant white flowers appear in mid to late summer. Its sprawling habit makes it a good candidate for a ground or bank-cover; or for informal, cottage garden settings where it contrasts nicely with other foliage plants.
